For Mike

In the evening,
boats rest in soft sunlight.
Osprey and gulls quiet
their daily complaints
as humanity
brings its day
to a close.
The pungent smell of
gas mixed with oil
rises from the docks.

I wait for my love.

You really took me "there." Beautiful imagery.

This takes a special place in my favorites among your poems. It's a beautifully portrayed scene -- the sights, the sounds, even the smell.

Cheers.

Thanks, Kay and S.L. The photo was part of a poetry forum's writing prompt. It immediately took me back to the days when my dh and I were young!
